By accessing or using BoardTruth, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use BoardTruth. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Description of Service

BoardTruth is an AI-powered rules assistant for tabletop board games and tabletop role-playing games. It allows you to upload rulebooks and supplementary documents and ask natural language questions, which are answered using the text content of those documents.

4. AI-Generated Answers

Although we strive to ensure every answer is accurate and grounded in the rulebooks and documents you provide, AI systems can and do make mistakes. Answers are generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations of the source material.

BoardTruth answers should not be treated as authoritative rulings for organized play, tournament events, or official competitive settings. For competitive or official play, always consult the publisher's official documentation, errata, and the relevant tournament organizer.

BoardTruth is not responsible for any outcomes — including disputes, game results, or tournament decisions — arising from reliance on AI-generated answers.

5. Uploaded Content & Intellectual Property

All rulebooks, expansions, supplements, and other documents you upload are the intellectual property of their respective publishers and rights holders. BoardTruth does not claim any ownership over uploaded content and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in partnership with any game publisher.

By uploading a document, you represent that you have the legal right to do so — for example, that you own a licensed copy of the game or have otherwise obtained the right to use the PDF. You retain all rights to your uploaded content.

We are not liable for any copyright infringement resulting from documents you upload without proper authorization. We do not distribute, share, or republish your uploaded documents to any other user or third party.

Your uploaded documents and data are never used to train AI models.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload documents or content you do not have the legal right to use.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise misuse the service.
• Use BoardTruth for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.

7. No Model Training

Your data, questions, chat history, and uploaded documents are never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI or machine learning model, by BoardTruth or any third party we work with.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

BoardTruth is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, accuracy of AI responses, data preservation, or fitness for any particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BoardTruth and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data or profits, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the service.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the service or other users.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of BoardTruth after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
